I bought the RH4 new and it was just under £1K and at the time that put it in the top league price wise. An RH4 since 1991 and a T2 - now the Delta, from about 1994.
Levinson guitars review upgrade#
So my question is has anyone else come across levinson Blade guitars, any good? do they hold up as well as they look?įor an extra £150 (and we're getting into silly money for me!) I can upgrade to the next model up, which is a sen ash body, and gold hardware - but we're probably getting into beuteque territory then. My worry is that the quality won't last long (ie seems great but 6months in the neck twists and pickups crackle.). It wasn't cheap (£380 - which must be about $700!), which makes me hesitant. It looked like a 1 piece alder body (but I guess it's more likely 2) It had an active pickup equalizer thing, which seemed ok (if they did a model without I'd take that through choice). The only thing I wasn't overly keen on was the neck had binding and very hard edges where the fretboard met the outside edge - it wasn't a deal breaker but I wasn't too keen.

I've tried the usual vintage, tanglewood type guitars in my local shop, which left me really unimpressed, but this Blade just seemed so well made, I find it quite tempting. I'm no guitar expert so it could of been a dressed up dog, but it seemed good to me. but I was absolutely blown away by the quality of this thing. I've never heard of them before, and I usually weary about "nonbrand" guitars.

I was looking at a Delta Classic which is essentially a tele copy. But they did have quite a few Levinson Blade guitars. They didn't have a huge stock of fenders (depsite what their webstie said). Well having sworn not to pay anymore money on something until I've tried it out I went to a guitar shop in the nearest city. Some of you will remember my bad run of luck with a Baja Telecaster.
